“All tracks lead to Langå”, or as they say in Denmark, “Alle spor fører til Langå". This is absolutely true for DANE Bikewear, which was created in the Danish railway town back in 1990.
DANE started off as a small manufacturer of protective motorcycle gear with Scandinavian design and quality that was made-to-measure. In 1993, we started specialising in functional clothing for motorcycling travellers by pioneering waterproof Gore-Tex® membranes.
Thirty years of experience with Gore-Tex® membranes has made DANE a specialist when it comes to Gore-Tex® constructions. During this time, innovations such as Storm Cuff, Boot Lock, and Seat Stay – among others – found their way to the world-travelling motorcyclist.
OUR HISTORY
After being founded in 1990, DANE got registered as a trademark in 1993. Two years later, the first 3-layer Gore-Tex® jacket became available to the public. It would stay quiet until the new millennium, but that didn’t mean nothing was happening in DANE’s atelier and laboratory.
The year 2000 saw DANE release its first leather jacket with a Gore-Tex® z-liner and later that year DANE Seat Stay to provide more comfort and control when riding. The year after, a jacket with a detachable Gore-Tex® liner and a pair of Gore-Tex® trousers were released. 2001 also saw the rise of the – now renowned – Storm Cuffs.
Since 1995, DANE has developed and released numerous features, with a new feature each year between 2000 and 2010. Development continues, but in addition to in-house development, DANE now also broadens its horizon by introducing R.I.S.C.™ impact protectors in 2024.
